Sail away with a Nordic God 20 – 25 September 07.05.09

Baldur- the Nordic God
Staying in the UK for your holidays this summer doesn’t mean cutting back on adventure and glamour. You can simply go as far as Embercombe on the Devon coast this July to spend a week on Embercombe’s beautiful old Dutch Sailing Barge, Baldur, delving into the myths of Nordic Gods and using them as a gateway to self-understanding.
Sailing from 5 -11 July 2009, this special week combines the tang of salty air and strong winds with a personal journey that the Embercombe programmes always take you on.
Embercombe has been working with senior business leaders in the field of personal development, coaching and values for many years, and now this social enterprise makes its unique expertise available to everyone in the shape of programmes for individuals.
Embercombe exists to touch hearts, stimulate minds and inspire committed action for a truly sustainable world. This programme is based on the myth of the great Norse god, Baldur ‘the Beautiful’, and on this journey we seek freedom. Our own personal journey is reflected in the mirror of Baldur’s story, making for a powerful, compelling, and mythic voyage aboard our newly refurbished ship, Volharding.
Previous participants on Embercombe’s programmes have found them life changing:
Mark Thompson, a business coach, said “The experience was on so many levels one of utter transformation that it surpasses words.”
Liz Moody, teacher said “AT LAST! – I found where I was hiding. The surprise of a lifetime was discovering my respect for why I hid, and the person who I found there.”
Sally Bourne is an interior designer, and found that “It was the hardest and best five days of my life. It has inspired me to push on and follow my dream of a business which supports artisans working in an ethical and sustainable way.”
Price: £780 to include all accommodation, food and tuition.
Embercombe is a registered charity, social enterprise and company limited by guarantee, based at Higher Ashton, Exeter, Devon.
